In India's most romantic city, Udaipur

It's likely that you've heard the expression "Venice of the East at the very least when you travel. It's a phrase often batted around by travel agencies across the globe - starting from Malacca (Malaysia) up to the old town of Manila (Philippines) because it brings a sense of continental flair.

For me, the one location that is worthy of the title is Udaipur A lakeside paradise with sparkling marble, oozing romance, and a European style that you can't get anywhere else in India.

The old part of the city is covered by pure Lake Pichola, the Venice comparisons go beyond relaxing boat cruises. The writer Rudyard Kipling was one of the first to use the term "Udaipur" when talking about Udaipur in his novel 1899 Letters of Marque. "If the Venetian owned the Pichola, he might say with justice, 'see it and die'," Kipling wrote. This is a crude method of saying that the location is impossible to not be in love with. You can reach here by Taxi Service in Udaipur.

Kipling was on the right track. Winding streets crammed with Mediterranean-inspired cafes, music shops, and local craft stores give way to stunning lakeside views. The background to the City Palace's meringue-like rooftops against the lush green hills was the perfect location for James Bond's Octopussy. A number of scenes from the film's 1983 blockbuster were shot at the floating Lake Palace - the very idea of a luxurious hotel. It is only accessible via boat, and guests are able to only admire the lake from a distance.

The constant noise and the hustle that travels across India are exhausting in the scorching heat. As I got off the train in Jaipur it felt like an hour away, even the fact that both cities are located in Rajasthan. Rajasthan. My girlfriend and I were traveling together one of the things that she commented on was the way European the city was, having visited Venice just a few years prior. There was no chaos, and there were not a lot of auto-rickshaws waiting to welcome you, just peace and tranquility.

For a couple of days, we were able to be absorbed in the fairytale of a city. We explored its palaces, relaxed on its rooftops, and relaxed by the lake. You can also ride around by Cab Service in Udaipur. Sure, Venice has become world-famous as a 'romantic' destination but with a backpacker's price tag and throngs of tourists at every turn, I felt it didn't quite meet my expectations. Udaipur has my heart every time.

They've got it and they display it proudly this is the reason that a lot of Udaipur's events are situated around the lake, and have four islands that can be explored. The smaller (Arsi Vilas) was originally used as an armory, but it has since become home to a range of birds that are exotic, including kingfishers with bright colors.

If we were visiting in the off-season Our best option was to cruise around the lake on a small chauffeured boat. If you can't see the lake, it might have been one of the gondolas - and but with the added advantage that you don't have to go through by Udaipur Sightseeing Taxi Service to the many Venetian bridges. The intricate carvings of stone elephants into the wall welcomed us upon our way to Jag Mandir, a lake palace that you can visit. We sailed there to enjoy a refreshing drink at the end of the day.

Disclaimer: I was shocked to learn that the lake was artificially created and first constructed for transportation reasons and not for enjoyment. However, it was constructed in 1362 AD which makes it more ancient than many towns in North America, so it appears to be quite natural. The next generation was captivated by its stunning beauty and built what is now called The Old Town and City Palace.
